Dr. Saskia Juretzek is a senior sustainability expert with more than fourteen years of experience in driving sustainability in organizations.
In her PhD Saskia empirically researched on how to successfully implement sustainability strategies and the required decision maker’s competences (summary of research topic). She furthermore holds a Diploma in International Business Administration.
Saskia’s five year work experience with Accenture as a Management Consultant saw her developing a focus on topics such as Marketing, Sales and Sustainability when assigned to various projects in several countries as well as industries.
In 2011 she joined Telefónica Germany as a Sustainability Manager setting up a new sustainability strategy. She furthermore specialized in sustainability reporting and communication.
From 2015 until 2022 she worked as a Senior Manager Sustainability with Allianz SE holding responsible for the Group's non-financial reporting and auditing actvities as well as supporting the sustainability strategy development and implementation at Group and local level. She furthermore led the Group's efforts on SDG impact analyses.
In June 2022 she joined Tengelmann 21 KG as Head of Sustainability, focusing on groupwide sustainability strategy development & implementation, sustainability transformation and non-financial reporting. The family owned Tengelmann Group’s portfolio includes large retailers such as OBI and KiK as well as the real estate company TREI.
Saskia is an author of various books, regulary holds lectures on sustainability management and is Advisory Council Member of HfWU's MBA „Trend- und Nachhaltigkeitsmanagement“. In 2020 Saskia co-founded Futurewoman to empower women in sustainability, since 2024 she supports the expert network as strategic advisor.
